Section B1: Mathematics

Unit I: Relation & Function

1. Relations and Functions Types of relations: Reflexive, symmetric, transitive and equivalence relations. One-to-one and onto functions.

2. Inverse Trigonometric Functions: Definition, range, domain, principal value branches. Graphs of inverse trigonometric functions.

Unit II: Algebra

1. Matrices Concept, notation, order, equality, types of matrices, zero matrix, transpose of a matrix, symmetric and skew-symmetric matrices. Operations on matrices: Addition, multiplication and multiplication with a scalar. Simple properties of addition, multiplication and scalar multiplication. Non-commutativity of multiplication of matrices and existence of nonzero matrices whose product is the zero matrix (restrict to square matrices of order 2). Invertible matrices and proof of the uniqueness of the inverse, if it exists; (Here, all matrices will have real entries).

2. Determinants Determinant of a square matrix (up to 3 × 3 matrices), minors, cofactors and applications of determinants in finding the area of a triangle. Adjoint and inverse of a square matrix. Consistency, inconsistency and number of solutions of a system of linear equations by examples, solving a system of linear equations in two or three variables (having a unique solution) using the inverse of a matrix.

Unit III: Calculus

1. Continuity and Differentiability Continuity and differentiability, chain rule, derivatives of inverse trigonometric functions, like sin−1 𝑥, cos−1 𝑥 and tan−1 𝑥, derivative of implicit functions. Concepts of exponential, logarithmic functions. Derivatives of logarithmic and exponential functions. Logarithmic differentiation, the derivative of functions expressed in parametric forms. Second-order derivatives.

2. Applications of derivatives: Rate of change of quantities, increasing/decreasing functions, maxima and minima (first derivative test motivated geometrically and second derivative test given as a provable tool). Simple problems (that illustrate basic principles and understanding of the subject as well as real-life situations)

3. Integrals: Integration inverse process of differentiation. Integration of a variety of functions by substitution, by partial fractions and by parts. Evaluation of simple integrals of the following types and problems based on them.

Fundamental Theorem of Calculus (without proof).Basic properties of definite integrals and evaluation of definite integrals.

4. Applications of the Integrals: Applications in finding the area under simple curves, especially lines, circles/parabolas/ellipses(in standard form only).

5. Differential Equations: Definition, order and degree, general and particular solutions of a differential equation. Solution of differential equations by the method of separation of variables, solutions of homogeneous differential equations of first order and first degree. Solutions of linear differential equations of the type:

CUET UG Maths 2026 Preparation Strategy

If you have the right guidance and a strategic plan, Maths becomes easier, and you secure a seat in your dream university. Here’s the expert strategic plan for you.

Master NCERT Concepts and Formulas

Many students jump to shortcuts without understanding the basics — leading to mistakes in tricky questions.
At MeritZone, every topic begins with foundation concepts. Students learn why a method works before how. Step-by-step coaching builds confidence in problem-solving. Once fundamentals are strong, shortcuts and tricks become super effective.

Practice Chapter-Wise Questions Daily

Math improves only with regular practice. Begin with topic-wise MCQs to strengthen each chapter and then shift to mixed practice to build accuracy and speed. Consistent practice reduces silly mistakes and helps you apply multiple concepts together, just like in the real exam.

Daily Practice = Guaranteed Speed Boost

CUET Maths questions are time-bound. The more you practice, the easier the paper feels.
MeritZone provide: Topic-wise practice sheets, Speed-building worksheets, and Timed quizzes. This builds accuracy + time management — the two keys to scoring 95+ percentile.

Focus on High-Scoring Chapters

Certain topics deliver more marks with fewer concepts. MeritZone highlights priority units like: Calculus, Algebra, Vector & 3D Geometry, Probability & Statistics. Covering these early ensures faster and stronger progress.

Analyse Mistakes Through Weekly Mock Tests

Mock tests are not just for testing — they are for learning.
After every test: Doubts are cleared in detail, Weak chapters are re-taught if needed, Progress is tracked individually. This helps students improve steadily and removes exam fear completely.

Visual Tools for Faster Understanding

Graphs, geometric figures, and number lines — they all simplify abstract ideas. Using digital boards, graphical animations & visualisation tools, our classes make even tough concepts like: Limits, Continuity, Vectors, easy to understand and remember.

Conclusion

CUET Mathematics is a scoring subject that can significantly boost your rank and secure a seat in top universities. With clear concepts, consistent practice, and a smart strategy, scoring 100+ is absolutely achievable. Take the right step today with MeritZone Education and turn your CUET Maths preparation into a guaranteed success story.
